EXCITING ADOPTION NEWS: PETCO!!

¡Llévame a Petco, por favor!

Take ME to Petco, please!

Petco opens it’s new store in Vallarta on November 2nd, located between COSTCO and La Comer on Fluvial.  It’s exciting because PuRR Project, along with Sociedad Animal and Friends of PV Animals, will be sponsoring the Adoption Rooms for cats and dogs!  Open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday through Sunday, you will be able to come out and meet a large variety of rescue animals that are ready for their Furr-Ever Homes!  With so many kittens in our nursery, we are hopeful that this new location will be as successful as it is in other Mexican cities.  (Plaza Marina will no longer be an adoption location on Fridays.)

FEATURED FELINES: MISHA & PEDRO

Misha el ruso azul

Misha the Russian Blue

Both kittens have been fostered by Cathy Case and are socialized with people, other cats and a big doggie!  They will be available for adoption at Petco starting the weekend of November 2. Misha is a Russian Blue male with lots of attitude and he loves to play….especially with little Pedro!

Cathy called Pedro “Mighty Mouse” because he was so tiny but thought he could do anything! He came to the shelter in a group of 8, possibly siblings, who had severe respiratory infections and he was lucky to be one of the survivors. Now he just needs his Forever Home.

If you would like to adopt either or both, contact Linda at adopt@purrproject.com

SHELTER UPDATE

La olas ocasionadas por el huracán Willa en pleno malecón.

Hurricane Willa waves on the Malecon.

We survived the side effects of Hurricane Willa on October 23.  Lots of rain as it passed by but no wind damage at the shelter, and not close enough to the coast to be affected by the storm surge that caused high waves downtown on the malecon!  Vallarta got lucky on this one.

The clinic was filled with FIFTEEN tiny new kittens last month. Three went to foster with Trisha Aljoe, including an adorable calico female who was born with one eye. Five were found by Jose, huddled in the cane growing outside the fence.  Another five are being bottle fed after their mother was killed by an automobile.

A salvo al fin, después de haber sido tirados a un costado del refugio.

Safe after being dumped outside the shelter fence..

Two more just tossed over the fence.
