UPCOMING EVENTS

Bingo winnerKITTY BINGO: May 6 is the next scheduled Kitty BINGO at Nacho Daddy. If participation is still good, we’ll go ahead and schedule one for May 20. We’ve still got lots of great prizes to give away plus the popular 50/50 Raffle!

SATURDAY MARKET: The market will continue through May 9th so we’ll be at our regular table outside Daiquiri Dick’s until then! Last chance to get those PuRR Project logo T-shirts, caps, mugs and dish towels until next November!

GARAGE SALE: Thanks to everyone who came out to shop on April 18th! We sold lots of good stuff and donated unsold items to another charity. And a big Muchas Gracias to our volunteers who worked so hard to make it a success! You’ll have to wait until November for the next one!

SHELTER UPDATE

Linda’s Casita

It was a hot dry month at the shelter with the rainy season not here yet! We had to replace the ceiling fan in Linda’s Casita and add one to the back of Simona’s where the kittens were suffering from the heat. We only took in 7 kittens and two adult cats in April but the nursery casitas are still very crowded with 77 kittens!

ADOPTIONS

Ivan & his new Forever Family!

It was a rough month for adoptions! We had one through a foster but only 3 at PetCo. Unfortunately, they decided to close the Adoption Center the last weekend of the month to paint floors so that didn’t help. We still have so many kittens that need Forever Homes so please consider us when you are ready to add a furry friend to YOUR family!

RANCH HIGHLIGHT: TRISHA’S KITTEN HOUSE

When Trisha Aljoe saw the successful construction of Simona’s Senior Center, the shelter supporter/foster decided to fund the renovation of an old wooden building used as a kitten nursery.

Now the largest of the stucco casitas on the PuRR Project ranch, it houses young adult cats in the front area and kittens in the smaller back area. The “teenagers” are between 8 to 15 months old, are available for adoption directly from the shelter and are ideal for people who want a feline pet without going through the training/energy stage of a kitten.

GRACIAS! THANKS! MERCI! DANKE! ARIGATO!

Thanks to the GECKO Car Rental staff for again donating a two weeks supply of food and litter for the shelter cats!!

As always, we are grateful for those monthly donors who are so essential to our success: The McCullough Family Gift Fund, Gary Phillips, Sharon & Ken Rose, Terri & Gray Levy, Joanne Bryla, Trisha Aljoe, Pat & Sandy Glenn, Catherine Goglia & Jim Shoemaker, Karen & Walt Trolson, Shari Stone-Ulrich, Robert Weed, Jerry Petrizzo, Heidi Benedict, Timothy Oleno, Larry Sherwood, Mary & Bob Fitzgerald, David Flannery, Elizabeth Fuerherm, Janice North and Katie Hannasch.
