SHELTER UPDATE

Lots of Cats and a couple of dogs with volunteers at the shelter on the grounds

Happy cats! Happy visitors!

We had some unusual rainy days at the shelter in February with chilly mornings and windy evenings! Thankfully, there were no major problems. The rainy days slowed down the planned cleaning and repainting of the shelter clinic but it was accomplished and Dra. Eva was delighted! We were happy to take along visitors on regular Thursday volunteer days when we had available seats. As usual, they were amazed at so many cats (and a few dogs) living on the shelter grounds in harmony!

Kobe and Coco adopted!

February was a good month with 14 adoptions, most at the weekend PetCo Adoption Center where we take kittens on Saturday and Sunday. A few went home with visitors from California and Canada and some were failed fosters! But there are still 75 kittens and young cats in the PuRR Shelter nursery casitas who are waiting for their chance to go to a loving Forever Home. Please consider us when you are ready for your next furry friend. And remember that two are always better than one!

FEATURED FELINE: RUDY

A black and white tuxedo cat posing under a cat scratcherRudy came to the PuRR shelter in March of 2023 from a local rescuer who found him injured and wandering the street near her home. He was about a year and a half old at the time and has been living this past year in one of our casitas with adoptable older kitties. At first he was a bit shy but now he enjoys days when volunteers visit and can give him a good brushing or manicure! Rudy would make a great companion for someone…..maybe you?
