SHELTER UPDATE

Even Dra. Eva took 3 to foster!
We took in 39 kittens and 4 adult cats in June….22 in one week!! Eight of the youngest kittens were able to go home with a foster. Unfortunately, the survival rate for kittens taken away from the mother too soon is not good. It was also not a good month for adoptions at PetCo, but 5 kittens found Forever Homes through their foster mamas!
LOOKING BACK

Plaza Marina 2011
In a newsletter from July of 2011, we reported that our new adoption location on Fridays at Plaza Marina had been operating for a month and was proving to be a great source of adoptions! We had 11 adoption in June & July and 346 over the next 7 years. We were also doing summertime kitty BINGO on Thursday nights at Que?Pasa on the River Cuale. We had just qualified in the United States for our 501(3)(c)non-profit status as PuRR Project USA, Inc. That was a big step for generous donors who could now write off donations!
FEATURED FELINE: TOSTADA

Tostada is looking for you!
Not everyone wants or needs to adopt a young kitten. A mature cat is often a better choice, especially for us older folks! Miss Tostada would love to find that special someone and would make a wonderful companion. She is approximately 8 years old, healthy and currently residing in the PuRR Senior Center. For more information on her or other senior cats, contact Linda at adopt@purrproject.com
DONATIONS

Weekly COSTCO supplies
The next few months of “low season” are always a tough time financially. In the first 6 months of this year we’ve already spent around $250,000 pesos just on food, litter, cleaning supplies and medicine. Plus there are the salaries for staff & vets, electricity and repairs. If you would like to make a donation by PayPal or check, you can get all the information on our website at: https://purrproject.com/donate
GRACIAS! THANKS! MERCI! DANKE! ARIGATO!
Thanks to Malka Sekey for her donation last month plus we were very happy to receive another generous donation from Richard Robertson and Tara!
As always, we are grateful for those monthly donors who are so essential to our success: The McCullough Family Gift Fund, Gary Phillips, Sharon & Ken Rose, Terri & Gray Levy, Joanne Bryla, Trisha Aljoe, Pat & Sandy Glenn, Catherine Goglia & Jim Shoemaker, Karen & Walt Trolson, Shari Stone-Ulrich, Robert Weed, Jerry Petrizzo, Heidi Benedict, Timothy Oleno, Larry Sherwood, Mary & Bob Fitzgerald, David Flannery, Elizabeth Fuerherm, Janice North and Katie Hannasch.
