FEATURED FELINE:  MAINE

Maine el guapo.

Our Maine Man!

Maine and his four siblings came to us with their mother, Montana, in February.  Mama is now in the nursery being “house mother” to all the kittens.  Maine and his sister Dakota are still waiting for someone to give them a loving home!  He is white with black markings, beautiful green eyes, a sweet disposition and will make a great kitty companion.  Please contact Linda at adopt@purrproject.com for more information on adopting a PuRR kitty!

THE PURR NURSERY

Abundancia de gatitos en la guardería.

Lots of kitties in the Nursery!

As of this writing, we’ve only had 6 adoptions in the last month.  One was “Texas” who was the Featured Feline last month and the other five were the “P” kitten brothers we also pictured.  The PuRR Nursery is still very full with some up to six months old and a bunch of kittens who will soon be old enough to spay/neuter.  So we have all sizes and colors and it’s a great time to pick YOUR new kitty companion!  We bring a selection to Plaza Marina every Friday from 11:00-2:00.  Or contact us at adopt@purrproject.com to arrange a special visit to choose your kitty!!

SHELTER UPDATE

Jose & Carlos install Sail Shades over the new patio area.

We never know what the summer will bring!  The rains started early with around 10 inches and two big storms in the first week of June.  We try to prepare by checking roofs and electric fuse boxes plus trimming trees around the transformer.  We did have a leak in the Senior Center roof but it was quickly repaired.  Lost power briefly on two occasions, but overall, so far so good!

ADOPTION UPDATE: DYLAN

Dylan encuentra un lugarcito especial para relajarse por el camino.Dylan encuentra un lugarcito especial para relajarse por el camino.

Dylan finds a good spot to relax while on the road.

Al & Rosie Reichel met little Dylan at our adoption post at Daiquiri Dick’s in January.  He was soon on his way home with them to St. Claire Shores, Michigan!  Rosie recently reported that Dylan is a happy camper and enjoys just “hanging out” in the motorhome on their trips.  WE love to hear about happy PuRR kitties who have gone to their Furr-ever (Motor)Homes!!

LOOKING BACK:  JUNE 2011

A look back at Toby

In our newsletter of June 2011, seven years ago, we had an article that told the stories of Honey, Miau, Frida and Noche……all DOGS that had recently been rescued and cared for at our shelter in Porvenir.  All had happy endings with Forever Homes in Canada thanks to Patty Marchak, founder of MexPup!!  Last year, Jose wanted to keep another little white pup who was abandoned there, so “Toby” is now our shelter dog and also loves a treat from visitors.  Bow-Wow!!
