FEATURED FELINE: HANZ
This little fellow came to us around Halloween when he about 8 weeks old. He is a classic Tabby with tiger stripes and white paws. He is sweet, loving and ready for his Furr-ever Home! You can meet Hanz and our other adorable kittens that are ready for adoption each weekend at PetCo, adjacent to COSTCO, from Friday morning through Sunday evening. Or contact Linda at adopt@purrproject.com for more information. Meow!
UPCOMING EVENTS
SUNSET COCKTAIL PARTY at Daiquiri Dick’s: Tuesday, February 4th. By popular demand, world-renowned belly dancer Ruben Eduardo Marquez Angel will return to perform for us!! Those of you who saw him at our cocktail party last year will remember his incredible performance. Lots of other fun activities are in the planning stages, too! Tickets are $500 pesos and will go on sale shortly at Daiquiri Dick’s, at our Saturday adoption booth, or by contacting Marilyn Khan at exkhan@usfamily.net.
KITTY BINGO: January 1, 15 & 29 and every other Wednesday at Nacho Daddy!! Cards go on sale at 3:30 and games start at 4:00. It’s still only $100 pesos to play and we have collected an assortment of great prizes to win when you shout “MEOW”!
SHELTER TOURS
We had a great “Christmas Tour” on December 26 with 25 guests and volunteers visiting the ranch and making a lot of cats and kittens very happy! And the visitors all left with big smiles on their faces. There is still plenty of space for YOU to book your visit this season….only five dates left!! You can check out dates and also pay on-line on our website at: https://purrproject.com/shelter-visits/
ADOPTION UPDATE: RAVEN & BALBOA
Wendy Rasmussen recently wrote us to say: “I have been coming to Vallarta for 22 years and 8 years ago I adopted two boys, Raven and Balboa, and they are the love of my life! They have incredible personalities and I have to say that the three of us are a “pride”, they have their spot on my bed and our days begin and end together. I live in the country so they are in and out and have a lust for life. Occasionally I help bottle feed lambs and they supervise. I have had a number of cats in my life but Ray & Bo are by far the best and I think a lot of it has to do with their care and nurturing as kittens at your facility. You all do such a fantastic job giving refuge, care and
dignity to these wonderful creatures compared to the life they would have on the street.” (Note…they both appeared in our very first PuRR calendar in 2013!!)
DONATIONS
We are very grateful to the response we had after the recent flood. Thanks to donations, we were able to purchase four new custom made cat trees for the Nursery and other casitas. They are made of wood and will last for many years! It takes a LOT of pesos to keep the shelter functioning and we are entirely dependent on your donations plus the funds we raise during high season at our events like Kitty BINGO.
