FEATURED FELINE: SIGFRIED
With long white hair and the most beautiful blue-green eyes, Siggy is a remarkable 2 year-old male. He was rescued by our vet as a little kitten so has spent most of his life at PuRR. He currently resides in Macho’s House with several older females. Would probably be best in a single-cat home as he wants all the attention!! If you are interested in meeting Sigfried or any of our adoptable adult cats, contact Linda at adopt@purrproject.com.
LOLA’S JOURNEY: 5,500 km to New Brunswick!
Amanda Dion and husband Troy Wright, vacationing in Vallarta from New Brunswick, grew attached to a malnourished street cat and began feeding her and letting her sleep in their hotel room, thinking to take her home to Canada with them. When she failed to show up one day, another young couple from Finland told them they had also been feeding the cat and would try to find her and somehow get her to Canada, but they were leaving in two days!
After desperate pleas for help from William Smith V (the Finnish tourist), who now had the cat is HIS hotel room,
PuRR volunteers picked up the cat, had her tested, dewormed, spayed, vaccinated and finally on a plane to Chicago with volunteer Monica Pencz. Troy Wright then flew all the way to Chicago and took “Lola” to her Forever Home in Quispamsis where she will join their family of other pets. The whole saga rated an article titled “The Cat Came Back….” in the local Telegraph Journal. MEOW!
OTHER JOURNEYS!
January was a busy month for PuRR kitties traveling to the USA or Canada!
NICOLAS: Heather Galimberti and son Liam fell in love with Nicholas in the PuRR Nursery while on a Shelter Tour! Arrangements were made to pick him up from a PuRR volunteer on their way to the airport. Heather reports that “Nico” was great on the airplane trip and he is now adjusting to life in his new home in Toronto!
TIFFANY: Brandy O’Bray met Tiffany at our adoption booth at Daiquiri Dick’s and knew immediately that she wanted to take this adorable Tortie back home to California. Alaska Airlines is very pet-friendly and the flight to Orange County was easy. She is now micro-chipped and loves her new cat tree with a hammock!
DYLAN: Rosemary and Al Reichel also met Dylan at Daiquiri Dick’s adoption booth during their vacation here. When he was not adopted over the next two weeks, they decided it was fate and he had to be their new kitty! A pet-in-cabin reservation with Delta was made and he was soon on his way with them to St. Clair Shores, Michigan. Stay warm, Dylan!
